Welcome to Prism Psychology
Mobile Psychological services based in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs for adults and adolescents with disability, their families and support networks.
My name is Josh Tehan and I’m a psychologist with over 10 years experience working in the disability sector. I’ve worked with adults and adolescents with a wide range of disabilities and diverse challenges that have benefited from psychology support.
I’ve previously worked as a behaviour support clinician with over seven years experience working with people with complex and challenging behaviour including those subject to Restrictive Practices and utilise those skills in my current practice.
I have also previously worked in the NDIS LAC program and have a robust, insider understanding of the scheme. If you are an NDIS participant and self-manage or plan-manage your supports, please reach out.
My Philosophy
I practice psychology in a manner that empowers people with a disability to take as much control over their own lives as possible. I focus on identifying and building on a person’s existing strengths, interests and goals to ensure that progress is self-directed and sustainable.
I believe that wherever possible and appropriate, it is critical to work with the person alongside family members and support networks to ensure that all key stakeholders are working together to achieve common goals and obtain the best possible outcomes.
I understand the barriers that many people with a disability have experienced in accessing the services they require, and to help overcome this, I have established a mobile practice, meaning that I can come to you or to a place that is easy for you to access.
If you feel that my approach is the right one for you, and that I may be able to help you achieve your goals, please contact me.
